Hunger isn’t just something that happens somewhere else—it’s affecting families right here in our own neighborhoods. The WSOY Community Food Drive gives churches and faith-based organizations a meaningful opportunity to put faith into action through service, generosity and compassion.

When congregations come together, small acts of giving can make a big difference. One Sunday, one offering, one can of food at a time, we can help provide thousands of meals and bring hope and nourishment to families across Macon County.

Dedicate a Sunday to Service

Consider hosting a WSOY Community Food Drive Sunday at your church. Dedicate a service to the importance of caring for neighbors in need, and invite members to contribute a portion of their offering or tithe to support the food drive.

Fill the Pews with Food

Challenge your congregation to “Fill the Pews” by bringing canned goods and pantry staples to church. Encourage families to make food drive donations part of their regular grocery shopping. Find a list of the items most needed by local food pantries HERE.

Become a Drop-Off Location

Turn your church into a place of hope for the entire community by becoming an official WSOY Community Food Drive drop-off location. It’s a simple way to extend your outreach beyond your congregation and give your neighbors another convenient way to help. You can deliver the donations during the Food Drive on October 2nd at the Kroger on Rt. 36 between 6am and 6pm.

Spread the Word

Help us spread the message by including the WSOY Community Food Drive in your church bulletins, newsletters and programs. Share information on your church’s social media and encourage your congregation to invite friends, family and neighbors to participate.
