The WSOY Community Food Drive happens tomorrow, Friday, October 3rd, at Kroger in Airport Plaza. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the community will come together for one of Decatur’s most impactful days of giving, raising food and funds to support local families in need.
Traffic & Parking Information
Organizers are encouraging donors and shoppers to plan ahead for traffic flow around Kroger to keep the day running smoothly:
Shoppers and parking traffic should enter from the back of Kroger on East Maryland Avenue.
Donors, Mobile Order pickups, Pharmacy Drive Through customers and vehicles with handicap placards should use the entrance off Airport Plaza Drive.
Traffic in front of the stage and the donation area will be one-way only for the safety of all involved.

How to Give
There are several ways for the community to participate:
Bring non-perishable food items to Kroger tomorrow between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Make a financial donation in person or by calling the donation line during the broadcast at (217) 864-5070Â (Phone Lines will be open 6 am to 6 pm on October 3rd). You can also give online at WSOYFoodDrive.com, Venmo @UWDecatur, or Text WSOY 26989.
Credit your favorite school when you give! Donations can be applied to your favorite school’s total, giving them a chance to win big prizes while helping fight hunger.
Incentives for Donors
This year’s food drive comes with a bonus for baseball fans. For every $500 donation, supporters will be entered for a chance to win four premium tickets to see the St. Louis Cardinals during the 2026 season in either the 703 Club or UMB Champions Club—plus, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend an inning in the broadcast booth with KMOX broadcaster Mike Claiborne.
What to Give
Food pantries have identified a list of their most-needed items, which includes staple products such as canned vegetables, peanut butter, boxed meals, pasta, and cereal. Donors are encouraged to check the full list of requested items HERE.
Why It Matters
Every can, every dollar, and every act of generosity tomorrow will go directly to local food pantries and organizations serving families across Macon County. For more than two decades, the WSOY Community Food Drive has been a testament to what’s possible when an entire community unites behind a common cause. Please give.
