Hunger doesn’t just exist in distant places—it lives right here in our own neighborhoods. The WSOY Community Food Drive is rooted in the values of service, generosity, and community, and offers practical ways for churches and faith-based groups to come together in meaningful action. By uniting in this effort, your congregation can help provide hope and nourishment to families across Macon County.

The WSOY Community Food Drive is not just about collecting food—it’s about living out our shared values. When churches come together in service, the impact is multiplied: one Sunday, one offering, one can of food at a time, all adding up to thousands of meals for our neighbors.

Dedicate a Sunday to Service

Consider hosting a WSOY Community Food Drive Sunday at your church. Dedicate one service to focus on the importance of caring for our neighbors in need, and invite members to donate a portion of their offering or tithe to support the food drive.

Fill the Pews with Food

Encourage your congregation to “Fill the Pews” by bringing in canned goods and pantry staples. A list of items most needed by our pantries can be found HERE.

Become a Drop-Off Location

Make your church a place of hope all week long by becoming an official drop-off site for the food drive. This simple step extends your outreach beyond your members, welcoming the wider community to join your mission.

Spread the Word

Support the cause by including the WSOY Community Food Drive message in your church bulletins, newsletters, and programs. You can also share posts on your church’s social media to inspire others to get involved.

Resources to Help You Lead

We’ve created easy-to-use toolkits with everything you need—logos, flyers, newsletter templates, and more—so you can jump right in. Download those materials HERE.

Together, we can turn faith into action and service into impact—one meal, one family at a time.
