October 3, 2025 - In just 12 hours, our community came together in an extraordinary show of generosity, raising $867,776 in food and cash during the 2025WSOY Community Food Drive, held today at Kroger on Route 36.

The top school was too close to call and will be announced late next week. Thanks to our generous community partners, the top five schools that raise the most food and dollars will cash prizes. And thanks to the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation, this year’s prizes were doubled.

All food collected will directly support Catholic Charities, The Salvation Army, and Northeast Community Fund, going to work immediately to ensure thousands of families across Macon County have access to nutritious meals in the months ahead. Bulk donations will also supply the Good Samaritan Inn’s daily meal program.

However, local food pantries and feeding programs, both big and small, can apply for funds from the financial contributions given to the WSOY Community Food Drive.

All applicants must currently be providing food assistance, and funds must solely be used for the purchase of food for your pantry or feeding program. An application can be found HERE.

The WSOY Community Food Drive is more than an event—it’s a lifeline. Local pantries report increasing demand as families struggle with rising costs of groceries, fuel, and housing. Today’s donations will help meet those urgent needs by providing food and grant funding where it’s needed most.

This record-setting day would not have been possible without the incredible support of our presenting sponsors, community partners, pacesetters, and every single donor who gave—whether through food, funds, or time. To see a full list of donors that made this day possible, click HERE.

Together, we have proven once again that when our community unites, hunger does not win.
